095: “Glad to See the Back of Quiet Luxury” - Melwani’s Tone-Deaf Take at LVMH
Just when you think LVMH has made such an absurd statement that it can’t get worse, it does. On Tuesday LVMH’s US CEO Anish Melwani stated that he’s “glad to see the back of the quiet luxury trend”, “that [trend] was getting pretty annoying” and that:
“I’ve always argued that luxury is connected to the underlying human emotion of accomplishment. When you really get it right you provide a product that a consumer, when they purchase it, they feel accomplished. That can manifest in different ways, but fundamentally a felling of accomplishment and it’s an inspiration.”
